One thing Marvel has done really well in bringing their stable of superheroes and villains to the screen is helping non-comic readers get instantly familiar with who’s who. As hard as it is to fathom now, a lot of mainstream America wasn’t all that familiar with Iron Man or the Avengers before they took the world by storm in a series of high-grossing films. The company will look to continue introducing the masses to new (and sometimes more obscure) characters in the coming years – including Ant-Man and The Guardians of the Galaxy in the not-too-distant future.
Also on the docket is Ultron – the monstrous robot set to be played by James Spader in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron – and if you don’t know Ultron from a Roomba, you will after watching this video.
IGN put together this cool mini-introduction to Ultron that will help newcomers to the Marvel universe get up to speed with the character’s origins, history, and so on – then will offer up some ideas about how he might be used in the upcoming Avengers film. Plus, it’s filled with lots of cool info about various Ultron comics – so you can make a reading list if you want to get even more up to speed before the film swoops into theaters in May of 2015.
