Have you been holding off on catching Oz the Great and Powerful on the big screen? If so, you may be in the minority. It's already the highest grossing film of the year, and while it may not end up making Alice in Wonderland's unexpectedly huge, billion-dollar pile of cash, it's definitely yet another hit for Disney. The studio hasn't given up trying to bring in new audiences, though, and they've just released the film's wonderful opening title sequence online in the hope it'll fill some more seats.
It's a pretty lovely piece of title design, fitting in tone with the film's more whimsical side while also tipping its hat to the styling of the Wizard of Oz everyone grew up with. It makes some clever use of sound and shadow, and is a just plain a cool sequence overall. And you can even watch it in 3D, if you want. Check it out below:
