For those of you who have been hoping that Twilight series author Stephenie Meyer would put the pen down and ride off into the sunset with her millions (never to be heard from again), your wish is kinda-sorta coming true. In an interview with Variety, the vampire scribe who made sparkly bloodsuckers a phenomenon adored and detested around the world admitted she's as sick of Twilight as the rest of us: "I get further away every day. I am so over it. For me, it's not a happy place to be." While she's definitely reached her limit, she indicated that she's not "completely closed" to revisiting her world of emo vamps, albeit briefly. "What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died. I'm interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle-Earth," she explained. A little unceremonious for the franchise that made her famous and broke the best-seller charts, no? Plus, we're pretty sure some dude named Peter Jackson has cornered the Middle-Earth market.
What else is Meyer busy doing these days? "I’m spending 75% being a mom and a human being. I have a great son who’s a junior in high school, who makes me feel like I’m 112 years old. My other boys are in the sixth grade and the eighth grade," she told Variety. Meyer indicated that she's currently taking a break from writing, but it doesn't sound like a permanent plan.
Chime in with your theories, and let us know if you're willing to give Meyer's other work a shot.
