Movie News: Carrie Fisher Confirms Princess Leia is Returning to ‘Star Wars'

Carrie Fisher

Star Wars Episode VII: Carrie Fisher answered “Yes” to a question as to whether she would be reprising her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars Episode VII. Commenting further, she imagines that her character today would be “elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home," she said, laughing. "I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.” Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill have also indicated they will be returning, though official confirmation has not yet been made. Young Lei Feng : The prospect of seeing a bio-pic about a revolutionary officially honored for his “selfless contributions to the Communist Party” did not enchant potential moviegoers in two major Chinese cities. Reportedly, no tickets were sold to Young Lei Fung in Nanjing after its premiere Monday night, prompting the cancellation of planned screenings. “All four screenings hit zero at the box office,” said one cinema staffer. “We are quite surprised, as generally you would sell some tickets for a movie one way or the other.” [The Hollywood Reporter]

Frances Ha Trailer: Dancing! Playfighting! Paris! New York! David Bowie! All those elements coalesce in the first trailer for Frances Ha, an upcoming "comic fable" starring Greta Gerwig. She co-wrote the film with Noah Baumbach, who directed, and it looks like an utterly lovely delight. The movie, shot in black and white, opens in limited release on May 17. [The Film Stage]
