Marvel is Creating a $30 Million, Touring Roadshow to Turn Fans Into Superheroes

Hulk figure madam tussaud's londonIf you’ve ever wanted to experience firsthand what it’s like to be Spider-Man or The Incredible Hulk, you’re about to get your chance. Marvel and Disney are set to team up with Hero Ventures to craft The Marvel Experience – a roadshow attraction that will tour the country allowing you to live out your superhero fantasies.

The attraction – set up in a traveling dome the size of two football fields – will use a 4D motion ride, 3D animation, digital projectors, holographs, motion comics, and other multimedia tools to create a fully immersive experience that puts the guest into the role of a Marvel superhero.

Current plans are for the traveling attraction to visit approximately 20 cities beginning in 2014. If that goes well, it seems likely that The Marvel Experience will expand its reach in 2015 and beyond.

Marvel already has a similar attraction, the Marvel Superheros 4D Experience at Madame Tussaud’s wax museum in London. I suspect the new Marvel Experience will be bigger than the one in London, but here’s a video that takes you behind the scenes of that show and gives you an idea of what to expect when Hero Ventures launches their attraction in 2014.
