All You Need is Kill : A new image has emerged for Tom Cruise's upcoming science-fiction action movie All You Need is Kill. It's a gritty look at Cruise as a soldier who must re-live one day over and over again, a la Groundhog Day; that's Emily Blunt as his co-star and fellow soldier. Doug Liman directed; the movie will be showcased at Comic-Con later this week. It's due out on June 6, 2014. [EW.com]
Alice in Wonderland 2 : We just heard that Johnny Depp was in talks to star in the comic crime picture Mortdecai, and now comes word that he's re-upped for the sequel to runaway box office hit Alice in Wonderland. Rather than Tim Burton, however, James Bobin (2011's The Muppets) will sit in the director's chair. The first Alice benefited from being one of the first big 3D releases, post Avatar, so it will be interesting to see how a sequel fares without that curiosity factor to drive it. [Deadline]
Bruce Lee TV: Filmmaker Justin Lin, who directed four installments of the Fast and Furious movie franchise to great financial success, is now turning his attention to television. Working with Bruce Lee Enterprises, he is developing a series that will be based on material by the late great martial artist. No details have yet been revealed as to the type of show planned -- a dramatic series? A reality contest of some sort? [Empire]
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom Trailer: The first U.K. teaser for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is strikingly simple; it places emphasis on wide-open spaces and the voice of Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) as legendary South African leader Nelson Mandela. Naomi Harris also stars in the bio-pic; the movie will open in U.S. theaters on November 29. [Total Film]
