David Fincher has seen recent success with his well-received political series for Netflix, House of Cards, but the director is still sorting out the details for his next movie. We know Fincher is getting more serious about the Gone Girl adaptation, but his Dragon Tattoo sequel seems to be at a standstill presently. Meanwhile, his 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea tentpole is facing some casting issues. While the filmmaker considers his next move, he reunited with Rooney Mara for a moody Calvin Klein commercial.
The company's new fragrance is called Downtown. Fincher gives us a black-and-white short that follows a model/actress (Mara) throughout the day, set to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Runaway." Mara was just cast in Stephen Daldry's Trash as an NGO worker. Three boys in an unnamed Third World country, set in the future, discover something dangerous in the city dump. The story is adapted from a novel by Andy Mulligan. Check out the latest Fincher/Mara collaboration, and cross your fingers for a new big-screen project from the director soon.
