The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug trailer is going to be attached to Man of Steel this weekend, so if you're already planning to see what is apparently a phenomenal Superman movie, you may want to wait for the big screen to get your first look at the middle chunk of Peter Jackson's new fantasy trilogy. For the impatient among us, however, the trailer is already online for your viewing pleasure.
Hardcore Hobbit fans will no doubt do total autopsy on what scenes from the book are being shown here for the first time, but two are pretty obvious: Evangeline Lilly's elf, Tauriel, and the titular dragon himself.
So what say you, Hobbit experts? Is everything looking like you'd hoped it would?
