X-Men: Days of Future Past : The parade of 70s fashions continues in the latest photo tweeted by director Bryan Singer from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, currently in production. This time, we get to see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Nicholas Hoult as Beast in a moment from behind the scenes. We wish we could time travel to July 18, 2014, when the movie opens, so we can see it now. [Bryan Singer's Twitter via Collider]
The Toxic Avenger : This may sound like a joke, but Arnold Schwarzenegger appears to be in serious talks to star in a reboot of The Toxic Avenger. The trashy 1984 original from low-budget specialists Troma follows a bullied man who ends up covered in toxic waste and thus gains superhuman strength; the movie inspired three sequels and an animated spin-off. The new version is described as an action-adventure intended for older teens and adults; Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) will direct. Arnold, by the way, would not play the title character, but instead another lead role. [Variety]
Medieval Times : Two production companies are teaming up to make a movie based on the live-action jousting show known as Medieval Times. In business for 30 years and currently housed in nine locations, Medieval Times offers patrons "jousting touraments and swordfighting competitions" while serving four-course feasts for dinner -- no utensils allowed -- in Middle Ages-themed replica castles. So, basically, it's Game of Thrones without the dragons. [Deadline]
The Congress Trailer: Debuting soon at Cannes, The Congress mixes live-action with wild, surreal animation to startling effect. The first trailer features Robin Wright as an actress who sells the likeness of her younger self to a media company and then must deal with the consequences in the (animated) future. Harvey Keitel, Danny Huston, and Paul Giamatti also star. [The Film Stage]
