Good, Bad, Bogus: When Celebrity Parents Put Their Kids in Movies

Hollywood is a town guilty of rampant nepotism. For every successful celeb with a child who decides they want to try and “act,” there are at least ten genuinely talented young actors eating ramen noodles for another year. Unfair? Yes, but sometimes that celeb has a genuinely talented offspring and we can forgive them.

One of the most ambitious talent-feeder families out in world right now are the Smiths, with parents Will and Jada Pinkett Smith working hard to enable their kids (Trey, Jaden and Willow) with high profile Hollywood careers. To help ensure audience eyes, Will co-stars with Jaden in M. Night Shyamalan’s post apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, After Earth .

Will they rekindle their The Pursuit of Happyness magic? We shall see, but in the meantime let’s look at some other cinematic parent/child collaborations with good, bad and bogus results.
