As if the 1993 original was not sufficiently terrifying, Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park has been post-converted into 3D, adding one more dimension to the frightening vision of man-eating dinosaurs running amuck. Coming at a pivotal point in Spielberg’s career -- after the troubled fantasy Hook and just before the real-life horrors of Schindler’s List -- Jurassic Park perfectly encapsulated the director’s push/pull relationship with science fiction. A quick review of his sci-fi movies reveals his ambivalent feelings about the future, as expressed on screen.
