Sure it's easy to make fun of magicians. They're gaudy and loud and overly self-serious. But then you see one who's really worth their mystical salt and it's hard not to be at least a little impressed. The same goes for movie magicians. Usually accompanied by films that act as a narrative slight of hand tricks in and of themselves, movie magicians manage to wow us with their trickery even when we're totally aware how little magic an actor actually needs to be capable of.
