Transformers: Age of Extinction

Transformers: Age of Extinction : Even Michael Bay's behind-the-scenes sets look cool, dangerous, and stylish. The director shared a new photo from the set of Transformers: Age of Extinction which appears to capture a bit of on-screen chaos and/or explosions. The movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, and Stanley Tucci, will smash into theaters on June 27, 2014. [Coming Soon]

East of Eden : Jennifer Lawrence and Gary Ross, who directed The Hunger Games, are reteaming for a big-screen version of John Steinbeck's classic novel East of Eden. First filmed in 1955, with James Dean making an indelible impression under the direction of Elia Kazan, Ross wants to develop two films based on the book, with Lawrence playing the role of a mother whose two sons develop an intense rivalry. [Deadline]

RoboCop : In the realm of movies that best represent the cities in which they're set, the violent sci-fi action thriller RoboCop has a special claim on the hearts of the residents of Detroit, Michigan. And so the city will be the permanent home of a ten-foot tall statue of RoboCop. The statue, which was funded via a Kickstarter campaign, will be unveiled next year. [Heat Vision]

Ender's Game TV Spot: The first television spot for Ender's Game somehow crams a major threat to Earth, explosions, an adventure in space, its young star (Asa Butterfield), its greying commander (Harrison Ford), and more explosions into 32 seconds. The movie will open in theaters on November 1. [Latino Review]
