Watch: Our John Gholson Visits VH1 to Talk the Big Movies at SXSW in 2013

After all was said and done, after James Franco had successfully corrupted Selena Gomez in Springbreakers, after all pants were sufficiently soaked with fear after the Evil Dead premiere, my SXSW came to a close with an invitation to appear on VH1's Big Morning Buzz with host Carrie Keagan.

We talked about as many of the films as we could in such a quick segment, and her first question really did make me consider what makes SXSW different from any other film fest. I live in Austin, Texas, and I happen to think (as do others) that it's a very accommodating city. There's really a mix of people from all walks of life, with differing politics, tastes, and styles, and the thing about this city is that everyone is welcome. The tastes of the fest reveal this attitude; there really are movies at SXSW for everyone - dramas, horror, docs, comedies. They're a perfect reflection of Austin's "all are welcome" philosophy.

You can check out my conversation with Carrie Keagan below, and all of our 2013 SXSW coverage right here. Thanks to VH1 for having me on.
