The South by Southwest Film Festival is one of the best launching places around for indie films. It's the type of festival where you may have never heard of the movies going in, but you could blindly pick a schedule every day and every single movie you wandered into would offer up something worthwhile. So combing through their 100+ film lineup and picking out just a handful is a bit of an uphill battle - there will always be a completely unknown gem that's just waiting to explode after its world premiere - but we've done our best to pick out the films we're most looking forward to.
If you're going to SXSW, these are the movies that need to be on your schedule. And if you're not going, these are the movies you'll (hopefully) be dying to see later this year. Either way, keep an eye on our SXSW 2013 page for our complete coverage of the festival.
